MUSEUM ON THE BOYNE GETS AN UPGRADE

Renovations to the Museum on the Boyne have been completed.
The Alliston-based museum received funding from the Canadian Heritage Legacy fund to help out with the makeover.

South Simcoe Police is holding a Citizens Police Academy September 15th.
The 9 session course will be held once a week and according to Constable Rich Williamson it will cover the in's and out's of what goes on during actual investigations.

A silver lining to a dark cloud for Canada's Women's Rugby team.
Canada suffered its first loss of the Women's Rugby World Cup in Dublin Thursday (aug 17).
Second-ranked New Zealand defeated the No. 3 Canadians 48-5 in the preliminary round.

DNA MAY HAVE CLEARED A COLD CASE

An arrest has been made in a cold case.
South Simcoe Police took a 24 year old Aurora man into custody and charged him in relation to an armed robbery that took place in November 2011.
They believe he held up the Country Style Donuts on Holland Street West in Bradford at gunpoint.

NEW SPLASHPAD IN ALCONA

A new splashpad is in the works for Innisfil.
Council approved spending $1.8 million to buy a property next to the Innisfil IdeaLAB and Library in Alcona for the new park, that will include a water area.

A mixer for the Bradford West Gwllimubury Studio Art Tour
It's a chance to meet the artists who will be in the 2017 BWG Studio Tour
The event goes Monday (Aug 21) from 7pm-9pm at the Bradford West Gwllimbury Public Library.
The studio tour itself will go Sept 16-17.

LOCAL WOMAN IN THE WORLD CUP

Canada's Women's Rugby team are indefeated at the World Cup in Dublin, Ireland.
Jacey Grusnick of Alliston is a member of Team Canada who have shut out both Hong Kong and Wales.
Early Thursday morning they take on New Zealand.
