The newest elementary school in Alliston has a new name.
56 online and personal submissions were made to a naming committee.
The group finally settled on Boyne River Public School.

WALK FOR ALS

The Alliston Walk for ALS is being held this Saturday (june3)
Money collected at the event will be used for patient care and research.
Registration takes place before the walk at the Alliston Christian Reformed Church at 28 Downey Ave, starting at 8:30 in the morning.

WHAT DOES A NEW THEATRE IN ALLISTON MEAN FOR THE CIRCLE THEATRE?

A six screen movie theatre is coming to Alliston.
Imagine Cinemas, the 3rd largest movie chain in Canada, hopes to be open in the Alliston Mills Shopping Centre in October of this year.
The new theatre would employee 12-20 employees, mostly part time positions.

OPP ROAD SAFETY STATS

OPP have compiled their stats for Canada Road Safety Week.
Nottawasaga OPP took part in provincial initiative to reduce the number of traffic deaths linked to the Big Four factors.
Those are impaired, inattentive, and aggressive driving and lack of seat belt use.

INNISFIL BOATHOUSE BY-LAW GETS A TWEAK

There was a large turn out of Innisfil residents at this week's (may 24) town council meeting who were unhappy with the wording of a by-law.
The by-law revolves around whether or not residents with water front property could build in-water boat houses.

Everfest is coming back to Everett.
The 9th Annual Duathlon goes Saturday June3 for students JK to grade 8.
The event will offer students the opportunity to experience the challenge of sport while promoting physical fitness but the emphasis will be on fun and safety.
